First of all we would like to apologize everyone who felt deceived or harmed in any way by us closing down GOG.com without any warning and without giving access to your games. We apologize for that from the bottom of our hearts!

Hmm, crocodile tears. But I'm going to have to forgive them; the service is still a good one. Also they made The Witcher.

Yeah it's a marketing stunt. The site is relaunching tommorow. Not impressed with the way they did this.

That is going to f-ing hilarious, and I'm going to enjoy saying I told you so to all the Steam lovers I have crossed paths with on various forums.

It will be a pity about Civ 5 tho!

On the GOG subject, I would be surprised if this wasn't a prelude to launching a new service. Could be wrong but the video on YouTube seems odd, if I was closing down due to business problems without a replacement plan then I don't think I would bother putting together that video (even tho it is short).

NOO!!!

I was just about to buy Masters of Magic from GOG after Glasstec to have a bit of a blast from the past (since Elemental isn't doing it for me right now).

I guess there will be torents but still that sucks.

Today:

"As stated on http://www.gog.com everyone who bought their games will be able to redownload them.This option will be available in the upcoming week."

"The official statement from GOG's management about the situation will be announced soon. We'll have more details about this tomorrow."

Seems odd, since I can't imagine they would have been releasing games DRM-free without the copyright holders permission.
