So for a heads up the classes I've been toying with currently are:
Crusader, or one of the others from Tome of Battle, the flavour for the Crusader was good, but I'm not sure about the random manoeuvre draw mechanic. Should provide an interesting front liner
Shugenja for a diverse (elemental sorcerer/cleric/druid) but controllable spellcaster (note I've been looking at the version from Oriental Adventures which is supposedly superior to the Complete Divine version)
The third slot is pretty open (won't need a rogue) so if anyone's got anything they wanted to try let me know, can be a wacky core class or core/prestige combo. The idea is to be interesting to play all the time but not ridiculous.
All characters will be Human, standard feat progression, and a high number stat buy without a level progression (will try and work it out the same for single stat folks and better for spread folks)
We'll be somewhere in the vicinity of level 12-14 haven't quite nailed that down, mainly worried about the unexpected effects of the high level spells which can be a bit ruinous. And you can assume you will be well equipped item wise.
