Saturday 13th December 2008Great Garden Update
I thought it was time for an update on the Garden Experiment.
The lettuce are getting a bit ridiculous. All five are now a couple of feet tall, and are all flowering, which probably indicates their lives are coming to an end. We've certainly eaten a fair amount, so they were worth it, but next year I'll aim for fewer plants.
The spinach, despite looking like they were going to die, have taken a turn for the better, and are all growing quite well.
Both lettuce and spinach have been used in a salad sitting on our bench right now.
The tomatoes are all growing quite well, and a quick count this morning showed at least 5 fruit, with probably more hiding. The amount of growth prompted me to buy a couple of tomato frames to put around them, hopefully giving them somewhere to grow.
The lemon tree has also shown growth, is flowering, and has a couple of small fruit too.
The mandarin and passionfruit are looking healthy, but are obviously growing more slowly.
Apparently capsicum don't like me. I thought we'd lost all three of them, but two seem to be staging a comeback, though they are still very small. We'll see how they go.
